The municipality of Camaiore between the coast and the mountains has been a major cultural and commercial centre for countless centuries. As long ago as the Roman times, Nocchi was traversed by the ancient Via Aemilia Scauri. And by the Medieval era the village was a popular stop on the Via Francigena road between Rome and Canterbury.
Today, Nocchi is within easy reach of more modern modes of transportation.
